UMLÄB
https://linktr.ee/umlab.musique

Umläb is a group formed in early 2020 from members of Moncton NB’s Les Païens and long-time collaborator Andrew Creeggan. This jazz.electro.rock project is a broad creative space that has roots in jazz-funk, trip hop, 20th century classical composers, house, post rock, math rock and clam rock.

Their debut recording, Disque Space, is a 5 song EP produced during the first year of the pandemic and released in December 2021. In December 2024, they released “Café Noisette”, an electro-jazz version of The Arabian Dance from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. Umläb revisits this great classic while preserving its exotic, hypnotic essence.

In September 2025, Umläb celebrated the release of their new album, Silence Radio—an instrumental journey into the heart of electro jazz-rock, disponible via J’ai dit bon musique.

Community Coalition Panel: Waves of Genocide, Echos of Liberation

Join us on October 23rd at Haven Music Hall for the next Connections Panel. These panels are designed to share skills, build community solidarity, and empower collective action. This panel is organized by Saint John Community Coalition with support from Food Not Bombs SJ and Haven Music Hall.

History is littered with examples of states committing brutal violence - from European genocides in the Americas, to Rwanda, Germany and Cambodia, to the Kurds and Armenians, to the current slaughter in Gaza and Sudan. What value do definitions of "Genocide" and "Human Rights" have when the judge and the perpetrator are the same entity? Join us for an evening of stories and a discussion on the colonial and racist structures that enable such violence. Learn and add your imagination to the liberation of all oppressed people!

As always, Food Not Bombs SJ will be there providing food. So mark you calendars and we hope to see you all there!

Doors 5:30, panel 6-7:30, open discussion from 7:30-8

Haven Music Hall is pleased to announce our new monthly open-play night for emerging artists! These nights are for emerging artists who’d like to test-drive playing a show will full sound support! We welcome any genres, so you might see a metal band opening for an experimental electronic act followed by a cellist! These shows are all-ages and FREE to attend.

Sign-up sheet is here!

We provide:

Full PA: two monitors, FOH speakers, mics, mic stands.

You provide: bring your own backline! Amps, drumkit, etc. Minimum 30 minute sets.

Doors are 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Bands are first-come, first-serve, 3 maximum. We expect and encourage confirmed artists to promote the night through their channels, so once we've confirmed with you via email invite all your friends and family! HMH will contact you via email to confirm whether you're on the lineup for this upcoming all-sorts!

All Ages Show Details

This is a wet/dry show, meaning both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are served. All patrons will be ID'd upon entry and given a coloured bracelet corresponding with their ticket type (19+ or -19). Bartenders will also be checking IDs at the bar. During all ages shows we are careful not to serve multiple drinks to one person, so if you're buying your 19+ friend a beer please bring them to the bar to order with you! All ages are welcome but only 19+ patrons with ID's may purchase alcohol. Patrons aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.
